GOD

Is he real or just a belief? Explain your opinion.

  1. I can only answer this question for myself and how I feel. Personally, I do not believe in God or that system of beliefs. I have no pr oof, no reason, or no actual evidence of God and how he saves our souls and helps us in need. Until I am given direct proof of it, I will continue with my beliefs. I assume no one truly knows about God or the afterlife until you get there. Everyone's beliefs are different and it is all personal preference.

  2. I believe that God is real because he is! Even though there is no proof or actual evidence of his existence this is my belief and will always believe in him.

  3. I agree with Colton, even though there is not complete evidence whether or not God is real, I still believe in him. I think people who are good members of society will be rewarded with an afterlife in heaven.

  4. I personally believe strongly in God. I was brought up in a family that attended church as often as possible and I've never doubted that God didn't exist. Whether people agree or disagree with me, I feel if you are genuinely good you will go to Heaven with God, and people with unforgiving sins will spend their afterlife in Hell.

  5. I have a class called human condition and in that class we discuss if God is real and we go really in depth with necessary existence and what it means to be perfect. We talked about ontological arguments he put a set of Premosies on the board and it was by an old researcher in it did declare that God is real and I believed he was real before this class.

  6. All you have to do is look around the world at the beauty of nature and new life and you have to believe in God! The wonder of the Earth could not come from just black holes and crashing atoms. The hand of God is around us all. I have felt his presence in my life many times. He has carried me through the roughest times and brought me joy in my moments of happiness. I believe that people who are kind hearted and reach out to others will be rewarded in heaven!

  7. I think God is real, but I think that there *is* evidence that is around you. We just took an atomic structure quiz today in Chem and were talking about the smallest particle and how an atom is mostly space. That got me thinking about how if I am made of atoms, that technically, I'm mostly empty space. If you think about it, it's incredibly mind blowing how countless numbers of atoms can come together and form something as complex as a human, or any other living organism that has its respective systems needed for it to survive, and this is a very minute example. How can all of this just happen randomly? This observation doesn't even involve any kind of science or facts. The Bible is another example of evidence; many people argue that it contradicts with science, but if you've done any kind of extensive research, you'll find that it agrees. I also believe that you must be saved in order to go to Heaven, as it is said many times in the Bible and in church. Sure you can do good things, but you still sin and good actions won't save you.

  8. I have and always will believe in God. I am catholic and was raised as a believer. I believe God has been with my family many different times. For example, my sister was very close to dying but some sort of miracle happened which lead her back to health. I am a strong believer in God. I understand there isn't evidence to make everybody believe but I always will.

  9. But there is evidence, that's what I'm trying to say

  10. I personally believe God is both. There is facts that he did walk the earth years ago but since then God hasn't shown himself again. So now He is a strong belief of the people. He also said he has respect for those who follow Him when He walked the earth with us but more respect even yet for those who have never seen Him but still choose to believe.

  11. I think religion is a crock of shit for the most part. In ancient times, cultures across the globe created belief systems and gods to explain things that they could not. Over time, many were forgotten or taken over by new renditions. Also, there are so many religions how can one group claim theirs to be the real one and discount all others..? Seems a little silly to me. Humans cannot grasp a lot of things, for example infinity, what happens after death, the extent of the galaxy, etc so it is nice to have something to believe in that can break those complicated topics down for you. This is nothing against anyone that believes in religion; it's just my opinion.

  12. I think that God is a belief because you either believe in him or you don't. Obviously no one can prove whether or not God is real, otherwise there wouldn't be so much debate over Creation/Evolution. So to answer the question, I think that God is a belief, not absolutely "real."

  13. I think the entire concept of religion in general is great; for many it is their comfort. But, personally, I cannot honestly say that it is much more. I was raised a Christian and loved the idea of it all, but I don't feel like I know the truth--& I will not know the truth until I am in the afterlife ..or I may just never know if there is no afterlife. In addition, is it fair to say that the 'God' we know of is real? There are so many other religions out there that believe in their own god/gods, maybe people just adapt to the religion familiar to where they are raised. As my conclusion, every one has the right to believe what they want. I hope for the existence of an all powerful God, but I do not have proof.

  14. God is real. It's sad that half the time, people don't believe it because there's no proof. That's what faith is all about: Believing in something and holding tight to those beliefs even when the world says no, and evidence is no help. We all claim that we want to be apart of something that can change the world, but we want all the glory for it. Well, when we accept God as our savior, and put him at center stage, we place ourselves into a story that lives on forever.

  15. I believe God is real. Yeah, there may not be any physical evidence of him, but just look at the world around you, this is evidence enough of what he can do. Having faith in him is exactly that, you need to move past the 'no physical' evidence and just bleieve that he is there.

  16. God's real fa sho. Besides growing up in a Christian home, I've experienced God in many different ways. Although others may not understand, the Holy Spirit, a part of the Trinity (God, Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit) has ministered to me in my life through speaking in tongues, experiencing miracles on trips, and miraculous healing. I know people may think I'm crazy, but think what you wish, I believe in God and always have. I follow Jesus Christ and strive to live a life like His. I try and use God's love to reach out to people everyday. Not in a fire-brimstone, you're a terrible person and are going to die sort of way. I believe if someone personally asks Jesus to live in them and they live a life following his commandments, then they will be with Him one day in Heaven. Word.

  17. There is no god. I grew up in a christian home and I found it all to be trash. Religion is a superstructure that provides framework for people to live by, and I respect that. But that is all it is good for. As for it being the truth, absolutely not.
If finding god can only come within, then he would not have made his religion ambitious and assertive. There would not have been a representative that walked the earth, rather an inoffensive natural phenomenon. Jesus was an accredited and talented speaker who was found out, and ultimately killed for his quackery. There is no evidence that he rose. None. And if you disagree, find it, but don't cite the bible.
You have to look at it from a logical sense. There is no being that controls all beings. Life is a manifest of random order. There is no evidence of any biblical events, while there is millions of years of history that has been interpreted.
I am not saying that I believe in "science" either, but I do believe there is more merit to that theory.
None of you have ever experienced a connection with god or with jesus, you are in a sense being either brainwashed, or just saying you have made your peace just to boost your ego.

Again, this is not a pro-evolution viewpoint, nor a dissertation on christianity itself, but on religion as a whole. Everyone is entitled to their beliefs, and I will not impress my beliefs unless otherwise provoked. And to see all the pro-religion view-points coerced upon people in the past and in the present calls for somewhat of a rebuttle, and for those who do not respect an an argument are the downfall of your respective religions. In my opinion, It is not real, nothing is real. The sooner humanity comes to realise this, the better.

  18. You can't argue 'God', not because of moral issues but because to argue 'God' is against the foundation of science and debate itself. There is no evidence to prove or disprove 'God', and by arguing it you are basically arguing circularly which is pointless which is a waste of time and isn't efficient. Is 'God' real? None of us know for certain; religion relies on faith.

  19. I believe that God has been with my family through a lot which helps my belief in him. Going to church mostly every sunday since I was a little girl, I learned a lot about the bible and my faith. I am strong about my belief. Even though I am a strong believer, I would never judge others on what they believe in.

  20. sometimes it's hard to know whether or not there is a god. There's proof both ways.. Why would our culture spend so much time with religions if there isn't some sort of god? but also there isn't any real evidence there is a god. so it's hard to know what's true or not.

  21. The world was created by God and God also has a life plan for every individual person, so yes, God is real and he has a huge impact on everyone.

  23. Personally for me I believe in God and I will always believe in Him. I was brought up in a Christian home and many of my family members are active members in the church being pastors, ministers, and deacons. Having faith goes a long way with believing in God and his great powers. When I was younger I lived in a bad environment and I was not safe but every day I woulld pray for things to get better and one day I had the courage to stand up for my stand and get out of that environment all because He told me I could and he would be right by my side. Everyday I thank Him and know his is walking beside me. All these testimonies of God and his miracle make it hard for me to doubt Him.

  24. An Omnipotent, and Omniscient God of the Judeo-Christian Bible does not exist. The Burden of Proof falls upon the believers to garner a preponderance of evidence in support of their positive claim. To this day, not a scintilla of empirical evidence is in support for the existence of God. Furthering that, the illogical nature of God as an entity (Omnipotence Paradox)would require an extraordinary amount of evidence to support. Since there is no evidence for the existence of God, I see no reason to believe in him, at least Santa Clause is consistent with logic, God is simply illogical.

  25. Seeing as I was raised catholic I believe that there is a God. There are times however when I begin to doubt myself. There is so much evidence people bring forward trying to prove that religion is a falsehood and logic would say that there is no God as well. However my upbringing has given me the ability to have faith and believe that there is a God.

  26. The community I grew up in my entire life consists of mostly all Catholics. My family attends church each Sunday morning, and its always been that way since I was little. I feel I have no choice to not believe in God. My family are all such strong believers, so I feel I need to follow in their footsteps.

  28. God is made up for people to just have an answer for their many questions/ no one really knows whether he exists or not.
